Telecom Construction Manager

About the Role:

Ericsson is seeking an experienced CM to join their team in Portland, OR. In this role, you'll be on the front lines of network excellence, working closely with our market suppliers to drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency. As a trusted advisor and Ericsson representative, you'll conduct regular site visits, provide consultative support to crews, and play a key role in ensuring alignment with Ericsson and AT&T standards.
We are looking for candidates with strong tower experience and a solid working knowledge of AT&T systems and standards to support real-time issue resolution and long-term process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site visits to assess and analyze performance metrics such as cycle time, COP (Close-Out Package) first-time right, Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), Ericsson tool usage, build quality, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Engage directly with suppliers to address performance deficiencies, conduct root-cause analysis, and ensure immediate correction of safety and construction discrepancies.
  • Provide feedback and collaborate with suppliers to develop corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Strategically plan and prioritize daily and weekly supplier engagements to maximize market performance, considering supplier KPIs and project priorities.
  • Serve as a key internal partner to Ericsson's Senior Construction Managers and Project Management teams, supporting customer meetings, site access coordination, and construction drawing validation.
  • Design and develop site construction process improvements, collaborate with automation teams to enhance Ericsson tools, and help scale improvements across markets.
  • Collect and report supplier performance data to support deployment process changes and evaluate new initiatives.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers to foster a culture of continuous improvement and open feedback.
  • Ensure suppliers fully understand and adhere to Ericsson and AT&T processes, standards, and tools.
  • Provide actionable feedback for Ericsson and customer-specific training programs based on field findings.
  • Support quarterly Supplier Business Reviews (QBR), report on field findings, track corrective actions, and recommend performance improvements.


Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Must have strong tower experience.
  • In-depth familiarity with AT&T systems, standards, and processes is essential.
  • Proven expertise in general construction processes and procedures, including civil, ground, line & antenna, backhaul, and maintenance work.
  • Experience managing general contractor suppliers and providing construction scope guidance.
  • Ability to interpret and enforce Ericsson and customer construction quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of contracts (leasing, vendor, and customer-facing) and financial considerations.
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour telecommunications safety course required.
  • Experience with Ericsson equipment portfolio is a plus.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and developing process improvements.
