Network Engineer

Job Title: Network Infrastructure Engineer

Type: 6 month contract, hybrid (4 days onsite)

Job Summary: The Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining data networks, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. This role includes managing network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points, as well as troubleshooting and optimizing network systems to meet organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain data networks, including the installation and configuration of network and wireless equipment.
• Create and update detailed network documentation, maps, and standards.
• Perform firmware updates, patch systems, and schedule necessary upgrades for network devices.
• Troubleshoot and optimize network systems using tools and techniques to resolve hardware and cabling issues.
• Integrate emerging technologies, including VoIP and wireless solutions, into existing systems.
• Maintain network security by updating hardware and addressing vulnerabilities in compliance with NIST standards.
• Uses various troubleshooting tools and skills, traces out fiber and CAT 6 cables across multiple IDF closets and patch panels. Labels and documents cabling and network hardware changes.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Cisco routers/switches.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network infrastructure design and management.
• Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting network devices and systems.
• Experience with VoIP, Microsoft Azure, and wireless technologies preferred.
• Familiarity with NIST standards and network security protocols.
