Position Summary
The Network Surveillance Engineer, RAN, Wireless NOC will support a 24/7 Network Operations Center. This role involves documenting incidents in ServiceNow, managing escalations, and providing initial troubleshooting of 5G cell site incident tickets. The NS Engineer will monitor the RAN Network, work with urgency to resolve issues, and escalate to Tier II when necessary. Responsibilities include end-to-end monitoring and troubleshooting of the 5G ORAN platform, analyzing service and system issues, determining corrective actions, and implementing solutions. The role also involves supporting site monitoring post-maintenance, reviewing network logs, managing high-severity issues, and performing other related tasks as requested. This position will be 24x7x365 on a fixed or rotational basis.develop corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the RAN EMS's & observability tools.
- Identify incidents, log tickets, and assess impact in ServiceNow.
- Manage Market chat groups, perform initial troubleshooting, and provide support.
- Support site monitoring/health checks post-maintenance (CR's).
- Oversee incident management, driving ticket analysis and follow-up.
- Prioritize incidents based on urgency and business impact.
- Collaborate and escalate issues with FIM, Advance Ops, Engineering & Vendor teams when critical/time-sensitive support and resolution are needed.
- Manage outages and emergencies, ensuring adherence to KPI's & SLA.
- Work closely with RF, Deployment & Integration, Tech Dev, Core, Cloud Infra, Network Engineering & Market teams.
- Resolve customer complaints (CXO) within SLAs and ensure operational performance.
- Update trouble tickets with technical details, maintaining MOP's & templates.
- Ensure the Open Incident backlog is optimal.
- Maintain National Level Availability >99.50%.
- Manage incident escalations and follow-ups, ensuring process adherence.
Skills, Experience, and Requirements
- Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of telecom/wireless experience.
- Experience managing 4G/5G NOC shift environments and troubleshooting activities.
- Able to organize and prioritize dynamic schedules, balance team workloads, and ensure incidents are managed quickly and efficiently to resolution.
- Knowledge of 5G functional components (Core, RAN, Network, Transport, PaaS, and gNB configurations).
