Position: Sr. Project Manager - Transportation (Design)
Start: January 2025
Duration: Permanent/Direct Hire
Location: Miami, FL

Onsite: Both office-based work and site visits to project locations, requiring occasional travel to oversee project progress and resolve on-site issues.

Job Description:

Position Overview:
This role leads and oversees the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of assigned projects including the responsibility of leading and mentoring the transportation engineering team and interfacing with clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Project initiation: Analyze the project scope, prepare budgets and schedules, and select teams and resources.
  • Project planning: Set goals and objectives, define roles, and produce schedules and timelines for tasks, in accordance with client needs.
  • Project management: Coordinate the client and project team to keep them on track, monitor the project budget and schedule, prepare monthly update reports, prepare monthly invoices, and review and approve monthly accounts payables for the project.
  • Project closeout: Prepare all final close-out documents, evaluate successes and challenges, prepare final closeout report.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time.
  • Coordination: Report regularly to management and the client.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related discipline.
  • Registered Florida Professional Engineer.
  • Candidates with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is a PLUS.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project, personnel, and cost/financial management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering or designing, management.
  • Experience with operational characteristics, services and activities of a comprehensive civil engineering or infrastructure program involved in the design, construction management, inspection and contract administration of storm water system, water, and wastewater facilities projects.
  • Excellent project management, financial management, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • A drive for cultivating relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Dedication to professional excellence with a desire for constructive feedback.
  • Understanding of permitting procedure for various engineering disciplines.
  • Strong grasp of regulatory requirements and administrative code for specific engineering discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge or experience with technical specifications for infrastructure projects.
